Don Ray - The Garden of Love

This is my go-to record pick when I’m home alone cooking, cleaning or dancing. It’s just sitting there with its bright coloured square letters, shouting to be pulled out of the cabinet. You might know the opening track Got to Have Loving, if not the original then maybe the highly sought-after edit by Oceanic, for which he took a sample from the amazing 2-minute break halfway the track. However, often I prefer to put the record on my turntable B-side up, starting with the the dripping arpeggio’s of Standing in the Rain, followed by the instant happiness of Garden of Love, ending with the slow but powerful My Desire.
