Gena Rose Bruce - Deep Is The Way

For this weekend’s pick, we venture all the way out to the land down under. Although Gena Rose Bruce is technically a singer-songwriter, this album has too much grit and schwung to be classified as another “girl-with-guitar”-record.

Hailing from Melbourne, she made the excellent “Can’t Make You Love Me” in 2019, an album that somehow managed to grab the attention of Bill Callahan, resulting in a gorgeous duet on this week’s recommendation, “Deep Is The Way”. Perfect for Sundays.
