M. Sage - The Wind of Things
Mark
M. Sage’s The Wind Of Things is an album dear to my heart.
I once used it as a soundtrack when reading John Steinbeck’s Travels With Charley , which is a heartwarming story of John and his dog Charley road-tripping the US in the 60’s. It pairs so well because The Wind of Things is heartwarming as well.
The music is a series of ambient soundscapes. And when you think of ambient you can imagine lushy synthesizers and over-exaggerated reverb exploring the ether. That’s not the case here though.
It’s folk-music instruments that shape the scenes. The resulting acoustic, naturalistic and cheerful vibe really give it a human touch of warmth.
If you happen to play this album on a Sunday morning like this one, you’re in for a wholesome treat. I’d really recommend the book-pairing
