For today’s recommendation, we go back in time sonically to the early 2010s, when the indie scene was dominated by the subdued, lo-fi sounds of Youth Lagoon, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Mac DeMarco. Nowadays, such sounds are hard to come by. For those of you with some nostalgia towards this era I, I found an English Gen Z’er who completely embraced this vibe and wrote some stellar songs basking in 2010s glory. Unoriginal? Maybe. But there definitely is enough freshness in these songs, and yesterday I found out they work extremely well when listening when spring is in the air.
