Mixmaster Morris, Jonah Sharp, Haruomi Hosono - Quiet Logic
Mark

Last 2 weeks I was on a little roadtrip through Japan. Many albums, mixes and songs were played, but the greatest discovery for me during this time was Quiet Logic.
Haruomi Hosono is one of my all time favorite artists, and I’ve been following the WRWTFWW records label for a while. When they announced it I had to get it. Albeit also slightly because of the gorgeous album cover.
I played the album a couple times before, but it was still in this ‘OK, new music’ listening stage. Not fully in enjoyment, but just slight intrigue. On the road it really came together though. Long, electronic hypnotic songs, with some nice rhythmic variety, some chopped breakbeats, ambient, and overal great moods. When it played we got more quiet and really digged the endless lsuh landscapes flowing by and overtaking trucks on the freeway.
According to the album description, Mixmaster Morris an Jonah Sharp worked on it during the day in Hosono’s studio, and Hosono picked it up at night. I like this idea of adding some midnight sprinkles to the music. Can imagine it’s even better suited for midnight roadtrip.
Anyways, love this record, and I hope y’all find enjoyment in it too.
