Mytron - Propellor
Stef
“I got sugar for your monkeeheeheehee”
That line is stuck in my head since a dear friend send me the track Sugar by Mytron some weeks ago. Not knowing the artist, I played the entire album and been revisiting it regularly. Both the lyrics and the music sound like someone having a lot of fun making music, not taking life too seriously while still delivering great dance music in a dark space disco style that reminds me of Axel Boman. Another seemingly random but convincing tune is the title track Propeller that includes the German lyrics: “ Wollen sie ein Flugzeug sein, geben Sie Propeller ein.”
Looking up the London-based Mytron up on Bandcamp, I find his own description hilariously accurate:
Creating finely fused psychedelic journeys through groove, pausing for stopovers in rainforest
rhythm, intergalactic electronica and dubbed out disco.
