Noami Sharon - Obsidian
Last weekend on Down The Rabbit Hole, I was eating very tasty fish and chips from Zijpe Stijl in between the performances from RAYE and Eefje de Visser. Once home, I realised that on that very moment, Naomi Sharon was playing on the other end of the festival. In the weeks before I had played her album Obsidian repeatedly, wanting to check her out. Oh well, that’s how it goes. I now like to assure myself that she probably didn’t match up to the shows of RAYE and Eefje anyway, which were amazing.
And so I just keep on listening to her album recording. Naomi from Rotterdam is pretty popular in the US and Canada, releasing her LP on Drake’s label OVO Sound. Her sultry voice will probably make you think of Sade. But Naomi Sharon has something of her own I’m finding hard to put my finger on. Don’t miss out and listen for yourself.
