Shabason, Krgovich, Sage
I haven’t just streamed, but always felt a deep urge to buy almost every release with Joseph Shabason on it. He makes this instrumental, organic, murky, emotionally complex, psychedelic music.
Not so easy to describe, but his signature is his saxophone sound that doesn’t really sound like saxophone at all, and combined with these smooth 90’s keyboard sounds.
Then he had this incredible collaboration ~2 years ago with Nicholas Krgovich, which added vocals to the mix. Camiel and I actually listened to the first single of this record (I’m so happy with my little dog) a bunch on our road trip through the US.
Now with the addition of Matthew Sage’s sprinkles of ambient it’s feels super complete. Takes it a bit more in the direction of wholesome, soothing and less anxious soundscapes. Very nostalgic feelings also. All in all a crazy dream collaboration, and perfect for a wholesome Sunday morning.
